Designer, Songwriter, Sculptor, Painter
Nur was born on October 11, 1971, in Yerevan, Armenia. Hiscreative career began at the Children’s Aesthetic Center, where he attended pottery classes.
. In 1991 he joined the Metalworking Faculty of Toros Roslin Applied Arts Institute. During his studies he participated in a number of exhibitions and expositions. In 1994, he was awarded the First Prize of "Jeweller 2004" at the World Exhibition, held in Moscow, Russia. In 2005 he designed the crown for the winner of the beauty contest of "Miss Moscow" in Russia.
After graduating from the Toros Roslin Institute of Applied Arts, he taught design and art history at the same institution
and later became the Vice-Rector of the same Institute. In 1998, he joined the Miami International University of Art & Design.
Arman Nur founded the "Nur Design" creative studio in 1999. One year later he became a member of Armenian Union of Designers and a member of International Association of Designers. In 2001, he was awarded “The Best Jewelry” at "Jeweller 2001" International Exhibition, held in Moscow, Russia. The same year, he held his personal exhibitions in Yerevan, Moscow and St. Petersburg. In 2004, he held solo exhibitions in Yerevan, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Bonn, Brussels, Paris and Moscow.
In 2007, Arman created the “Aratta” collection which was presented at Russian Fashion Week in Moscow. The Collection was awarded The Grand Prize. From 2007 to 2010 the “Aratta” collection has taken part at the opening ceremonies of fashion Weeks in Moscow, Venice and Tbilisi, where Arman Nur was an honorary guest.
From 2010 to 2012, he was a member of the jury of the Presidential Youth Awards.
Arman Nur was awarded a gold medal by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia. In 2013, he created a 2.5-meter bronze monument "The Reader” dedicated to the designation of Yerevan as “World Book Capital” in 2012. The same year he was awarded a“Movses Khorenatsi” honorary medal from the President of the Republic of Armenia.
Two years later, he presented a joint project-exhibition “Gallery 100” (dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide) with Armenian fashion designer Lilit Margaryan, in Yerevan, Armenia. In 2016, he held a solo exhibition “Uhi” (dedicated to Armenian women) in the Yerevan History Museum.
In 2017, Arman Nur was awarded the Lorenzo il Magnifico Gold Medal at the Florence Biennale in Italy for his project “The Fly”.
Since 2024, he has been a member of the Board of the Armenian National Music Academy.
